Lenovo Unveils New Lineup of Android Smartphones
CES 2013 has just begun and there will be exciting unveilings every day until it ends. The first company to throw in the first splash of surprise is Lenovo. This is not what we expected. However, Lenovo is spreading its roots in the smartphone market by unveiling new smartphones at the CES 2013. Lenovo has unveiled three smartphones which can fit all tastes and budgets. IdeaPhone S720 is the entry level phone and the IdeaPhone S890 and P770 are the high-end phones with advanced features.
IdeaPhone S720
The specs are satisfying and it runs on Android 4.0 ICS. As most other entry level phones come packed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, this is a far better option compared to the other devices. It is pre-loaded with audio software from Dolby and the audio speakers are great. IdeaPhone S720 is designed for more multimedia tasks than others and the 4.5 inch qHD IPS display supports long videos complementing the other features for video watching. It also sports a 1.2GHz dual core processor and an 8 MP camera. The looks don’t speak much, but we can perceive that it will have decent performance looking at the specs.
IdeaPhone S890
IdeaPhone S890 comes with even better features than the P770. It has more features rather than just a good battery and so this will be the most desirable phone of the three. It has a 5 inch IPS display competing with Samsung Galaxy Note and the colors are vibrant making it even better. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the skin customized by Lenovo. So, you can expect it to be something different from the normal Jelly Bean OS. It runs on a 1.2GHz dual core processor and has an 8 MP rear camera. The all-plastic build doesn’t feel good in hands, but the interior components are too good to avoid.
IdeaPhone P770
This beefy beast comes packed with a huge battery. Its 3500mAh battery is believed to support for at least 12 hours on a single charge. The design doesn’t seem to have had any bit of innovation and it is a phone with the same old boxy look with slightly rounded edges, but it comes with a good display and the latest Android OS, Jelly Bean 4.1. All the specs aren’t revealed and the price isn’t announced, either. As the battery is big, it is natural that the phone will be chunky and so it will take you some time to get used to the size. Motorola’s Droid Razr Maxx HD with a 3300mAh battery was the phone with longest battery life until IdeaPhone P770 was released. However, Lenovo IdeaPhone P770 comes with an even powerful battery and so it is expected to be better than Droid Razr.
The prices of these phones aren’t yet announced and it was said that these phones will be available for sale only in 2014. There is no point in unveiling these phones a year before as there will be other phones with more innovative features by the time these phones hit the shelves. No one will be willing to wait for a year to buy these phones because there will be better ones in the market making these devices look outdated.
