Temple Run Brave at $0.99

Temple Run Brave is just like the original Temple Run, which has been downloaded more than 80 million times, but with a few slight changes. It uses the heroine of the movie, Merida, instead of a generic adventurer, and the movie's giant bear Mordu as your attacker. Mordu is a great, evil-looking adversary, a Moby Dick-style force of nature with broken spears and arrows sticking out of his back. One look at him and you'll feel the urge to run, too.

Like in Temple Run, your only goal is to stay alive as long as possible, swiping on the screen to navigate sharp turns, slide under low branches, or jump over gaps. One false move, and Merida either dives into the water or gets eaten by a bear.  The game also has an archery element – a huge part of the movie itself – where you can tap targets along your journey to earn extra points.

Temple Run has been downloaded more than 80 million times, and the game was recently named by Time as one of the top 30 apps to download.

“It’s been a life-long dream come true to work with Disney and Pixar on something,” Keith Shepherd, founder of Imangi Studios, the company behind the game, said at a Pixar last week. “We have been really focused onTemple Run this whole year since it’s gotten so popular. Just trying to expand upon it and get it everywhere that we can… [Brave] was a perfect fit for doing a collaboration”

Integrated with Apple’s Game Center, the game also lets you keep track of how you’re doing against yourfriends and view leaderboards related to your standing in the game.

Temple Run Brave will be available from June 14. The original Temple Run is free, but Temple Run Brave costs $0.99. It comes with 2,500 coins, the equivalent of a $0.99 in-app purchase for coins in the original title.
