Weird iPhone 4 / 4S cases
One of the best things about owning an iPhone is that there are so many ways to accessorize it, with thousands of cases and other accessories on the market for each model, and hundreds of new cases being made each month. In this article, we'll show off some of the most weird and wonderful cases for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 available right now.
The iPhone is a great phone, but it's limited to just one sim card. This case inelegantly solves this problem by strapping a second dual SIM phone to the back of your iPhone. As well as serving as a kind of Nokia-style protection, the second phone allows you to carry on three phone conversations at once and even kind of works like some weird form of wireless storage, with a micro SD card slot and a Bluetooth connection. Sadly, while hilarious it's also prohibitively expensive.
Here's a one trick pony for you - this silicone case glows in the dark! This sounds kind of awesome at first (never lose your phone in a dark room again!) but it has some rather serious safety issues -- namely that if you use this case at night, whether in a club or walking back from one, any would-be mugger will be able to see that you have an iPhone at a considerable distance, and they'll also know when you're using it.
This is a rather more clever intention… kind of. The Incipio Stashback Case includes a hidden slot for credit cards and cash inside a standard shell-type case. The advantage is that you don't need to bring a separate wallet if you just have a few cash or cards, but the downside is that if your phone is stolen, your wallet is also stolen.
If you're looking for an incredibly large and bulky iPhone 5 case, then this is just the thing for you. The Bubblescope does have a practical purpose, allowing you to take 360 degree photographs using a bundled app, but the case really takes the cake with its sheer size and ungainliness.
After four cases of questionable merit, here's one that I'd actually buy. The Kubxlab Ampjacket also adds bulk to your phone, but uses it to amplify the sound produced by the iPhone's internal speaker. The sound channels also serve as a landscape stand, making this case well suited for media consumption. Of course, this doesn't give you carte blanche to annoy your neighbours!
Conclusion
So there we have it - five oddball cases for the iPhone 5 and 4. Did any of them take your fancy? Let me know in the comments below!
